Preschool
A NURTURING AND ENGAGING environment is the hallmark of our Early Childhood, setting the stage for happy, enthusiastic learners. Seeing our youngest Buckeyes venture in and embrace our school community warms the heart.
Our Early Childhood Building is housed on the south end of campus, in the lower level of the Convent Building. Our Preschool students have their own space to play and learn. With ample access to green space and our St. Barnabas playground, students thrive.
Open to children who turn three on or before September 1, our preschool classrooms offer a combined space for 3 & 4-year-old students. We have a maximum of 25 students in each class with a 1:10 teacher-to-student ratio. With full-day or half-day options and extended-day opportunities, St. Barnabas offers the perfect fit for all families.
The curriculum allows each child to experience success on their terms and is aligned with the ISBE Early Learning & Development Standards for language arts, math, science, social studies, and religion. Using manipulatives is the focus, rather than paper and pencil work, and children learn by doing, talking, and exploring new ideas.
