St. Barnabas uses multiple assessments throughout the year to gain helpful information for students, teachers, and parents/guardians to understand areas of proficiency and areas that may need more focus.  Assessments tell part of a student's academic story but are not considered the only criteria for success at St. Barnabas.
 
One of our main assessment tools is the i-Ready Diagnostic. We are pleased to share that our students consistently outperform the state of Illinois proficiency levels in reading and math and test above the Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools proficiency level.   
 
iReady Results
 
80% of our students are on or above grade level for reading proficiency, and 68% of our students are on or above grade level for math proficiency
State of Illinois student proficiency scores are based on the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR).  St. Barnabas School and the Archdiocese of Chicago scores are based on the i-Ready Diagnostic.
